Emmanuel Amunike (born 25 December ) is a Nigerian professional football manager and former footballer who played as a winger.[2][3]
Playing career
Amunike played for Zamalek, Sporting CP, Barcelona, and Albacete.
He played 28 times for Nigeria, scoring 10 goals.[4] He was part of the team that participated at the FIFA World Cup in the United States, scoring against Bulgaria and Italy;[5][6] also in that year, he helped the Super Eagles win the African Cup of Nations in Tunisia, and was voted African Footballer of the Year.
Amunike played all of Nigeria's games at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, scoring the winning goal in the final as the national team won the gold medal.[7] Knee problems kept him out of the FIFA World Cup.
